The HARTING Technology Group will be highlighting innovative connectivity solutions for the All Electric Society at this year’s trade fair.
60 years of electronica – the world's leading electronics trade fair is celebrating its birthday and being treated to a very special gift to honour the occasion: This year’s event will be the largest electronica ever, given that all 18 exhibition halls will be filled for the first time. The HARTING Technology Group will be on location in Munich from 12 through to 15 November. True to the trade fair motto of "Leading the way to the All Electric Society", connection technology for a digitalised, electrified and green world will be showcased.
The All Electric Society (AES) is the vision of a future world in which all energy requirements are covered by electricity. The necessary energy will be generated by renewable resources such as wind and sun – and converted into electricity and distributed as required by way of intelligent networks. Sector coupling is a key factor for the successful implementation of the AES – with sectors being defined as Mobility, Industry, Energy, Infrastructure and Agriculture. The aim is to combine these sectors into an overall system. This is based on the so-called lifelines of data and power that form the backbone for sector coupling and enable the unrestricted flow across sectors. HARTING’s innovative connection technology and customised cable solutions are driving these developments forward.
As is customary at the autumn trade fairs, the Technology Group will be providing an initial insight into the 2023/2024 financial year elapsed (30 September 2024) – and perceives its sales forecast of minus 8 percent confirmed. "It's what we expected," explains Philip Harting, CEO of the HARTING Technology Group, adding: "This means that we have outperformed the market environment in difficult conditions." In view of the increase in incoming orders, the Technology Group is anticipating slight/moderate growth in 2025. HARTING will provide more information about this at the annual press conference on 12 December 2024.
These are the key topics of the Technology Group at this year's electronica:
All for PCB: Modularity and flexibility are becoming increasingly decisive in device development. The time spans for the development of new devices is constantly decreasing and prototyping is increasingly taking centre stage. The limited availability of standard components often presents obstacles. HARTING is responding to these challenges by providing PCB connectors that meet the industry's requirements for greater modularity, flexibility and faster development.
All for Energy: The advancing energy transition is impacting on all areas of the energy industry. The generation, transmission and storage of energy as well as the sustainable utilisation of resources call for a holistic perspective in addition to comprehensive specialist knowledge. At electronica 2024, HARTING will be presenting products for the entire energy industry.
All for E-Mobility
Electromobility on the roads today is picking up speed. Not least since the electric campaigns of major car manufacturers, who are realigning their model policies. The charging infrastructure is growing in line with the number of registered electric vehicles. HARTING is supporting infrastructure providers and vehicle manufacturers worldwide with standardised charging solutions.
All for Miniaturisation and Modularisation
Technological developments in the industrial arena continues to be significantly influenced by miniaturisation and modularisation trends. Both require a continuous stream of new solutions and products – the development of which is creating additional optimisation potential. One example is space and weight savings of up to 50 % being achieved, which contribute to reduced CO2 footprints, among other relevant aspects and factors.
The HARTING Technology Group will be showcasing the connectivity solutions outlined above and more at electronica 2024 in Hall A2 at Stand 103.
