MMI Asia Pte Ltd, Messe Muenchen’s regional subsidiary in Singapore staged its first tlac SEA 2023 Malaysia Forum and Roadshow on 27th July 2023. The Forum, which took place at Nexus Convention Centre in Bangsar South, was aimed at stirring conversations on Southeast Asia being the next global hub and why Malaysia is still a key logistics hub.

With more than 70 participants, coming from various segments of industry as well as government, participants were able to partake of information shared by various thought leaders well versed in the topic. Mr. Michael Wilton, Managing Director and CEO of MMI Asia Pte Ltd, shared in his welcoming speech, that Malaysia is a key market for the transport, logistics and air cargo industry with its strategic outset and adaptability to technology.

Mr. Alvin Chua, Federation of Malaysia Freight Forwarder’s President, delivered the opening remarks acknowledging that Malaysia is the perfect destination and why with so many blueprints and initiatives, Malaysia can thrive.

The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Naim A Rahman, Director of China and Northeast Asia, ASEAN and Oceania at MATRADE. He presented ‘An Overview of the Rising Importance of Southeast Asia in the Global Market’, giving importance to the region and providing proof that tlac SEA 2023 is on track in staging its inaugural event this 1 – 3 November2023.

The Panel Discussion was headlined by Mr Raymond Siva, Head of Digital Investments, MDEC, Mr. Siva Gunesparan, General Manager of GÜÜD Singapore, Mr. Syahrul Azmir Zaki, Country Manager of Aramex and moderated by Datin Lorela Chia, President, Malaysia Association of Sustainable Supply Chain and Innovation. They discussed ‘Exploring Malaysia's Strategic Location and Robust Infrastructure as a 'Key Logistics Hub in Southeast Asia’ where technologies, collaborations and personal experiences were at the height of conversation.
