HARTING unveiling innovations at trade press conference and HANNOVER MESSE Preview
Trade fair flair and exciting insights into the very latest products: in line with the HANNOVER MESSE Preview, the HARTING Technology Group welcomed selected journalists to its traditional trade press conference.
This year’s event took place at the HARTING Innovation Hub in Osnabrück. Around 30 journalists from various parts of the world had the opportunity to experience the innovative prowess and strengths of the Technology Group live and first hand – thanks to the strong trade fair character of the event. Guests were able to marvel at the latest products live, experience their functions and try them out for themselves. The HARTING experts provided impulses and were available for professional conversations and exchange.
At the subsequent HANNOVER MESSE Preview, the Technology Group presented its current product highlights to around 100 interested media representatives. This time, the main theme in Hanover is: "Shaping the future with technology". With this in mind, the focus is on efficient and sustainable industry. For HARTING, this can be achieved thanks to the vision of the All Electric Society – a world in which the entire energy requirements are covered by electricity from renewable resources. With regard to the realisation of the All Electric Society both the coupling of sectors with each other and the networking within the sectors are crucial aspects. The sectors are defined as industry, energy, mobility and infrastructure. In order for energy and data to flow smoothly within and across areas, these sectors must be connected with each other. The contributions that the Technology Group's connection technology makes in this context was also clearly communicated at the HARTING trade press conference:
- Energy: In the Energy sector, the Technology Group showcased connection technology for the generation, transmission, storage and utilisation of electrical energy, among other things. The use of green hydrogen is an absolute must for the energy transition. HARTING Connectivity offers a decisive contribution to decarbonisation thanks to its robust and reliable solutions. High-pole outdoor versions for container solutions and offshore applications are ideal for use in demanding and harsh industrial environments.
- Mobility and Rolling Stock: The transformation in the mobility sector towards electrified drives is opening up a wide range of opportunities in many different areas for HARTING. The focus is not only on automobiles. In individual sectors such as construction, transport, agriculture, mining and shipping, the share of electrified drive concepts is steadily increasing. In view of increasing digitalisation and the associated increase in data rates and speeds, the mobility sector needs solutions that meet these demands. As a provider of charging solutions and pre-assembled cable assemblies, HARTING is an elementary component of this technology revolution – fielding a broad connector portfolio that includes space-saving, energy-efficient, robust and convenient, user-friendly connectivity. In this context, the technology group presented, among other things, customised jumper solutions based on the specific, individual vehicle design and the structural conditions on the roof, between the wagons and in the underfloor area. The technology group relies on connection technology developed in-house and qualified for the specific applications, as well as high-quality cables from its partner company Studer Cables. The focus was also on charging cable solutions for electromobility, with an explicit emphasis on bidirectional and direct current charging.
- Industry: M12 cabling solutions with inner and outer push-pull interlocking in accordance with IEC 61076-2-010 was another key topic, involving applications in the Machinery and Robotics segments, among others. These solutions offer a wide range of options for the pluggable connection of devices and drives in industrial environments. The consistent use of pre-assembled solutions, whether for the internal wiring in devices or for interconnecting the devices, offers additional efficiency potential – allowing production lines to be minimised and assembly times to be shortened.
In addition, HARTING will be presenting the transformative power of generative AI in design and sales based on an AI-controlled Han configurator, an AI-supported cable to PCB configurator and a generative engineering demo. And here are some of the advantages: Products can be found more quickly, in addition to benefits such as an enormous acceleration potential for the entire development process and significantly reduced development times, rationalised, streamlined design process and fewer errors.
