Movella, a leader in comprehensive motion digitization solutions, today announced that it has optimized its Xsens MTi™ inertial sensor modules for autonomous machines and edge AI applications. Xsens MTi sensors can be easily integrated into the NVIDIA Jetson ™ platform for edge AI and robotics, providing full compatibility with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin™, NVIDIA Jetson Orin™ NX and NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano™ SoMs.

The highly compact Xsens MTi sensors, also known as IMUs, are renowned for their high accuracy, reliability, and low latency, even in adverse conditions. They provide real-time, industrial-grade measurements of motion, orientation, and global position (GNSS), which are essential for navigating and controlling a wide range of mobile robots and intelligent automation applications, whether aerial, terrestrial, or underwater. Featuring compatibility with the powerful AI capabilities of the NVIDIA Jetson platform, Xsens MTi inertial sensors will help customers bring intelligent, autonomous systems to market faster.

Easy integration of NVIDIA Jetson Orin modules with Xsens MTi sensors will help make autonomous systems smarter and more efficient. Movella is a member of the NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN).

“The mobile robot market is experiencing massive growth and transformation, as autonomous platforms such as autonomous mobile robots are widely adopted in both indoor and outdoor environments. Collaborating with NVIDIA on the integration of the Jetson platform has helped us advance the use of Xsens MTi sensors in mobile robotics and edge AI,” said Meindert Zeeuw, Director, Automation & Mobility Business Line, Movella. “The seamless integration of Xsens MTi’s accurate, real-time data with NVIDIA Jetson’s accelerated capabilities will help innovators further develop systems that can navigate, perceive, and interact with their environment with even greater precision and agility.”

This integration underscores the dynamics of the industrial inertial sensor market, particularly in logistics (autonomous robots, autonomous vehicles) and maritime (ROV/AUV) applications. This segment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16% from 2021 to 2027, with an estimated value of USD 1.1 billion. Movella’s work underscores the industry’s rapid innovation and adoption of industrial inertial sensors, positioning the company to achieve transformative advances in intelligent automation in industrial applications.
